SHOW HEADLINERS
Ahmed Hassan:
www.ahmadandahmed.com
Celebrity Landscaper and TV Host with his presentation, "For the Love of
Landscaping"
Saturday, February 27 at 1:00 and 4:00 / Sunday, February 28 at 12:00 and 3:00
(followed by 1 hour of photos/autographs)

“Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life” - Confucius
One of the San Francisco Bay Area’s most sought-after landscape designers, Ahmed Hassan has spent over 20 years mastering the business of landscaping and home improvement. His forte is residential design, where he leans heavily on his experience and knowledge of plant identification and soils, as well as irrigation and maintenance.
Ahmed Hassan has a unique quality – he has the privilege of sharing his Life’s Work with thousands of TV viewers. On screen, Ahmed shares his valuable expertise as host on three DIY Network series: Yard Crashers (now in its 4th season), Blog Cabin, and the newly developed Turf Wars (currently in production of the 1st season). Off screen, Ahmed runs Ahmad Hassan Landscaping Services, a complete landscape design and installation company offering seasonal maintenance, improvements and garden consultation services.
The one thing Ahmed loves as much as landscaping, if not more, is roller-skating. “Spiritually speaking, landscaping allows me to create and connect with the earth while roller skating frees me and allows me to fly (or rather roll). Most folks enjoy dancing, I just prefer to do it on wheels."
Ahmed, which means Praiseworthy One, was born into a family of independent thinking entrepreneurs who laid out a clear path for how to reach his destiny: choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life.
As a young boy, Ahmed lived in rural areas of California, working alongside his father and other role models who used their hands to earn their living. He entered the world of gardening at the age of 15, primarily focusing on landscaping maintenance.
In 1992, Ahmed started his first gardening and maintenance business, Hassan Gardening.
Ahmed is a licensed landscape contractor and considers himself a “career student”. In 2010, expect to see more of Ahmed in the classroom: teaching classes at local colleges and learning centers, Guest Speaker at home and garden shows throughout the country and facilitating community garden projects with students of all ages. He firmly believes in giving as a way of receiving, and willingly offers his consultation services to other gardeners and landscapers
His clients are everyday people who enjoy warm and inviting spaces. Ahmed feels the key to his success is that gardening is his first love, and he’s remained true to his first love throughout the years. Ahmed currently lives in Northern California with his wife and three children.

Friday, February 26 at 2:00 & 4:00
Saturday, February 27 at 2:00 & 5:00
Sunday, February 28 at 1:00 & 4:00
Turning the bathroom and kitchen that everyone has into the bathroom and kitchen that everyone wants.
Steven Katkowsky, TV and radio personality, is one of the most popular speakers at home and garden shows. He is also a regular on ABC TV. At the HBA Akron Home & Flower Show, he’ll present two seminars each day.
“Going in Style” - Fri. 2:00, Sat. 2:00 and Sun. 1:00
Find out how to turn that small, outdated, 5x8 bathroom into the dream bathroom you never thought you could have. Steven will show you how to add up to 3 times the storage space, and create the illusion of size, without moving a single wall. And, for you baby boomers, he'll create your ideal bathroom too. Steven says that nearly every house in the United States has a standard five by eight foot bathroom. Steven will show how---without moving any walls---people can increase useable wall space by 40 percent, triple medicine cabinet space, triple useable storage in the same size vanity cabinet and get 15 percent more counter space. “It’s the same five by eight bathroom, but when you’re done, it almost seems like walking into someone’s living room”, says Steven. “People always say it fixes everything they didn’t like about their bathroom”.
Along with his new dream bathroom seminar, Steven will also present:
"The Reincarnitchen of your Small 9X10 Kitchen." - Fri. 4:00, Sat. 5:00 and Sun. 4:00
Creating the illusion of size and adding up to 3 times the storage space in your small 9X10 kitchen. In this show Steven will also offer some cool design tips and affordable green ideas.
Steven also literally wrote the book on how not to get ripped off when hiring a contractor: "Danger, Construction Zone: Your Guided Tour to a Successful Remodeling Project." In his book Steven teaches, among other things, how to avoid the greatest pitfalls of a remodeling project, and what to ask a contractor when he or she comes to your house for the first time.
For over thirty years now, Steven has been the owner of Steven’s Incredible Kitchen Machine, designing and remodeling kitchens and bathrooms in the San Francisco Bay area of California.
